About Gas Fired Boiler

Gyantosh's Gas Fired Steam Boilers deliver the cleanest and most responsive process steam we build. A gas fired steam boiler lights instantly, follows a swinging load closely, and produces effectively no ash, no soot and no fuel storage requirement at all — which is why plants with a piped supply choose it even where cheaper fuels are available.

These boilers fire Natural Gas, Piped Natural Gas (PNG) and Liquefied Petroleum Gas (LPG), with biogas and producer gas possible subject to burner compatibility and gas analysis. Gas removes an entire category of plant from the boiler house: no storage tank, no day tank, no transfer pump, no preheating and no filtration. What replaces it is the gas train — the isolation, filtration, regulation, safety shut-off and proving arrangement between the supply and the burner — which is a safety-critical assembly rather than a fitting, and is specified to the supply pressure the utility gives you.

The boilers incorporate high-performance burner systems that ensure complete fuel combustion, maximum heat transfer, and low emissions. Combined with a fully automatic control system, these boilers continuously regulate fuel supply, combustion air, steam pressure, and burner operation, delivering stable steam generation while optimizing fuel consumption and reducing operating costs.

Manufactured using premium-quality boiler-grade steel and precision-engineered pressure components, every boiler is built to provide long service life, operational safety, and dependable performance under continuous industrial duty. Their compact package design, quick start-up capability, and low maintenance requirements make them an ideal choice for industries where clean steam, process reliability, and operational efficiency are critical.

With no ash, no fuel yard and no ash handling, an industrial gas fired boiler removes most of the daily labour a solid fuel installation demands, and its compact footprint suits sites where floor space is the binding constraint. Flue gas is clean enough that particulate control is generally not the concern it is on solid fuel, which simplifies both the installation and the consent. Where a piped supply is not available, our oil fired boiler covers the same duty on liquid fuel.

Typical duty is process heating, sterilization, pharmaceutical manufacturing, food and dairy processing, chemical production, hospitals, hotels, breweries and textile processing — anywhere clean, responsive steam is worth more than the cheapest possible fuel.

Available in capacities ranging from 0.5 TPH to 25 TPH, these boilers can be customized to meet varying steam capacities, operating pressures, burner configurations, and process requirements.

Our gas fired steam boilers suit both greenfield projects and the replacement of existing plant, and are supplied as a compact, fully automated package. Where a plant wants the flexibility of both fuels, we also build oil and gas fired boilers on a dual fuel burner.

Most enquiries here are for a natural gas fired boiler on piped supply, though the same unit runs on LPG or biogas with the burner and train matched to the gas. Because there is no fuel yard, no ash and no solid-fuel handling, the installation is compact and commissioning is quick — the trade-off is exposure to gas price rather than to fuel logistics.

Combustion Technology

Nozzle-Mix Gas Burner

Mixes gas and combustion air at the burner head rather than upstream, giving a stable flame across a wide turndown and complete combustion without the atomisation a liquid fuel requires.

Monoblock Burner

A compact, factory-assembled burner that integrates the fan, fuel pump, ignition system, and combustion controls into a single unit for simplified installation and maintenance.

Dual Fuel Burner

Allows seamless operation on both liquid and gaseous fuels, enabling fuel switching without major modifications and ensuring uninterrupted steam generation.

Fully Modulating Burner Control

Automatically adjusts burner firing rate according to steam demand, maintaining stable pressure while reducing fuel consumption and improving overall efficiency.

Electronic Burner Management System (BMS)

Continuously monitors flame stability, ignition sequence, fuel supply, combustion air, and safety interlocks to ensure safe, reliable, and fully automatic boiler operation.

Frequently Asked Questions(10)

What is the minimum capacity available?
We supply gas fired steam boilers starting from 0.5 TPH for small-scale industrial applications, up to 25 TPH for large process plants.
Is IBR certification available?
Yes. All boilers above atmospheric pressure are supplied with full IBR certification as required by the Indian Boiler Regulations Act.
What gas supply pressure does the boiler need?
It depends on the burner and the capacity, and it is the first thing to establish because it decides the gas train. Tell us the pressure your utility or PNG distributor actually delivers at the meter — not the nominal network pressure — and whether it is guaranteed at peak demand. Where the available pressure is below what the burner needs, a booster is added; where it is above, the pressure reducing station handles it.
Can the same boiler fire oil as well as gas?
Yes — a dual fuel burner switches between gas and oil without major modification, which is worth specifying where the gas supply is interruptible or subject to seasonal curtailment. Note that dual fuel reintroduces the oil-side plant (tank, pump, filtration) you would otherwise avoid, so it is a deliberate trade rather than a free option.
How automatic is the boiler operation?
Fully automatic. The burner management system continuously regulates fuel supply, combustion air and steam pressure, with PLC-based control and an optional touchscreen HMI, so the boiler needs supervision rather than an operator on it.
Is a gas fired boiler more expensive to run than a solid fuel boiler?
Per unit of steam, usually yes — gas costs more per kilocalorie than coal or biomass. What offsets it is everything around the fuel: no fuel storage at all, no ash handling, no grate labour, minimal particulate control, lower maintenance, instant start-up and the smallest footprint of any fired boiler. For an intermittent or clean-steam duty the total cost often favours gas; for a continuous high-load duty it usually does not. Our steam cost calculator under Tools will put numbers on your case.
What is the typical installation timeline after delivery?
A packaged gas fired boiler typically takes 1-3 weeks to install after delivery, depending on site readiness for the gas connection, electrical supply and flue. The gas connection is usually the long pole, since it involves the distributor.
Do I need a chimney along with the boiler?
Yes — a chimney is required for flue gas discharge. GyanTosh can supply and install self-supporting MS chimneys sized for your boiler capacity and site conditions as part of the turnkey package.
What routine maintenance does the boiler require?
Routine maintenance includes burner nozzle/electrode checks, fuel filter cleaning, water level and steam pressure checks, and periodic descaling. Annual IBR inspection with hydraulic pressure testing is mandatory. GyanTosh offers AMC contracts to manage all scheduled and breakdown maintenance.
Can GyanTosh handle the complete turnkey installation?
Yes. GyanTosh provides complete turnkey solutions covering engineering, supply, civil coordination, installation, commissioning, IBR inspection, operator training, and post-handover support — single-point accountability from start to handover.
