A thermic fluid heater circulates thermal oil in a closed loop instead of raising steam. That single change is why plants specify one: thermal oil reaches 280-300°C while the circuit stays at near-atmospheric pressure, so the high temperature arrives without the pressure vessel, the statutory scope, the water treatment plant or the condensate recovery system that an equivalent steam installation would demand.

The heater itself is a helical coil inside a combustion chamber, fed by a forced-circulation pump. Flow velocity through that coil is not an efficiency question — it is what protects the fluid. Thermal oil that lingers against a hot tube wall cracks and deposits carbon, which insulates the tube and drives wall temperature higher still. Coil geometry, pump sizing and flow interlocks all exist to keep film temperature under control, and they are what separate a heater that lasts from one that cokes.

Typical duty is anywhere the process needs precise high temperature and pressure is the obstacle: textile dyeing and stenters, chemical reactors, plywood and laminate presses, bitumen and asphalt heating, edible oil refining, and rubber and moulding lines. Where several users share one loop, temperature at each can be trimmed locally without touching the heater.

An industrial thermal fluid heater and a thermic fluid heater are the same equipment under two names — thermal is the international term, thermic the one used in Indian procurement. Either way a thermal fluid heating system circulates a synthetic or mineral heat transfer oil in a closed loop, reaching process temperatures near 300°C at essentially atmospheric pressure, and that pressure difference is the entire argument for it. Matching that temperature with saturated steam would need roughly 87 kg/cm², with the pressure-part cost and statutory inspection that follows.

On thermic fluid heater price: these are engineered to duty, so there is no list figure. What moves the number is heat load in lakh kcal/hr, the design temperature, the fuel and its combustion equipment, and whether the scope stops at the heater or extends to the circulation pumps, expansion and de-aeration vessels, piping and controls that make it a working system. We quote the whole loop or the heater alone, whichever you ask for, but comparing two quotations only means something when both cover the same boundary.
