Hot Water Generators

A hot water generator produces hot water directly, without the intermediate step of raising steam and then condensing it into a calorifier. For any duty that genuinely needs hot water rather than steam, that removes an entire conversion stage along with its losses, its maintenance, and its statutory scope.

Below 100°C the circuit runs at atmospheric pressure and the whole installation stays simple. Above that, pressurisation extends the range while keeping the system well short of the pressures a steam plant of similar duty would carry. Either way the operating burden is markedly lower than a boiler house: no steam traps to survey, no condensate to recover, and a far lighter water treatment requirement.

Common duty includes process washing and clean-in-place, hotel and hospital hot water, dairy and beverage plant, textile wet processing, swimming pool and space heating, and any preheat stage feeding a higher-temperature process. Where a plant already runs a boiler for other reasons, a dedicated hot water generator often still pays for itself by taking the low-temperature load off it.

Solid fuel, oil and gas fired configurations are available, supplied with circulation pumps, storage and buffer vessels, distribution piping and controls. Tell us the flow rate, the temperature rise required and the duty pattern across the day, and we will size accordingly.

Buyers frequently search for small hot water boilers, or for a small boiler for hot water, and land on boiler pages that cannot serve the duty. The distinction is worth knowing before you specify: a boiler raises steam, a hot water generator heats water and keeps it below boiling. Because it never crosses that threshold it sits outside the statutory definition of a boiler, which removes the IBR design, certification and inspection regime — usually the deciding factor for hotels, hospitals, dairies and process plants that need hot water at volume and nothing more.
