What heating does a plywood plant need?
Hot press platens and veneer dryers, which means either steam or thermic fluid depending on the press temperature, plus hot air for drying. Most plants run thermic fluid for the presses because it holds temperature steadily at low pressure.
Can wood waste fuel the plant's own boiler?
Usually, and it is the main reason the sector suits solid fuel: offcuts, shavings, sander dust and core waste are already on site. Moisture content is what governs output — unseasoned waste delivers noticeably less steam per kilogram than dry, so the fuel handling and the furnace are sized on the wet figure.
