Is waste heat recovery worth it in a cement plant?
Usually yes, because the preheater and cooler exhausts are large, hot and continuous — the conditions a waste heat recovery boiler is built for. It raises steam from energy already paid for and burns no fuel of its own. The sizing inputs are simply the gas flow, its inlet temperature and its dust loading.
What emission control does a cement plant need?
Particulate control is the binding requirement, and the equipment follows the gas volume, temperature and dust characteristics. Bag filters and electrostatic precipitators both serve here; which one fits depends on gas temperature, moisture and the limit in your consent to operate.
